Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Overseeing the Hotel’s overnight operations & teams
  • Communicate through pre-shift logs, emails and departmental meetings all pertinent information for the respective shift and areas of operation
  • Respond to emergency situations and be completely knowledgeable with all emergency procedures and ensure that they are kept current and adhered to in all areas
  • Coach and mentor the Overnight Agents
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth management of operations, including Accounting with the balancing of accounts
  • Complete end of-day, and balance day accounts for the Accounting department
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and prepare posting of adjustments
  • Working with all hotel departments to ensure guest bills are accurate upon departure
  • Ensure that a high level of guest satisfaction is achieved at all times by turning moments into memories and service recovery is handled excellently
  • Promote a co-operative team spirit amongst colleagues by listening, giving positive feedback, monitoring and following up
  • Assist in the completion of the Front Office’s schedule and payroll
  • Understanding all duties of the Front Office Manager and handle related duties in their absence
  • Actively participate and promote Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations
  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • Strong guest service orientation and training skills background required
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year previous proven assistant managerial experience
  • Knowledge of Micros-Fidelio Property Management System an asset
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Passion for guest services
  • Must have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks and guest requests
  • Class 5 Alberta License or equivalent is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues and leaders
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
