We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional at our St. Jean Sur Richelieu manufacturing facility as a Human Resource Manager.

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, NA. Key responsibilities include the overall administration and direction of the human resource and payroll functions for Canada operations.

Provides guidance and advice to the organization and assists with developing, implementing and evaluating HR policies, programs, practices and activities in areas including benefits, compensation, labor & employee relations, staffing, training, performance management and communications.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the Human Resource function for Canada; including the St. Jean facility and Canadian Sales force.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Oversees and directs all HR initiatives including staffing, performance management, employee and labor relations, communications, payroll and benefits activities consistent with overall objectives of the organization.
  • Supervises and provides guidance to Payroll & HR personnel (Two direct reports).
  • Monitors adherence to internal policies & standards.
  • Leads negotiation of CBA and administration contract including grievance and disciplinary processes.
  • Directs and oversees the administration of HRIS system in order to establish and maintain accurate and complete employee and payroll records and reports.
  • Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed national and provisional laws / regulations.
  • Interprets appropriate laws and policies and advises management, employees and retirees accordingly.

  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Desired Skills & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8-10 years HR experience in a Manufacturing organization with 4 or more as a Manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct an HR team.
  • Experience in CBA / contract negotiation and administration.
  • Full understanding of HRMS and Payroll systems and processes.
  • Proven project and change management expertise.
  • Knowledge of HR best practice approaches, tools and techniques.
  • Experience of effectively recruiting, engaging and leading functional reports / teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Fluent in French and English (Bilingual).
