Reporting to the General Manager, the Field Sales Representative will be responsible for the development of new business and maintenance of existing customer accounts related to Ensign Testing operations. Key responsibilities :

  • Assist with developing and implementation of marketing strategies for divisional product lines
  • Effective management, negotiation and execution of contracts
  • Assist with developing sales forecasts and budgets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers
  • Work with operations to identify and close business with new and existing customers
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures and standards
  • Gather intelligence on competitor activities
  • Increase industry awareness of Ensign Testing’s services and availability
  • Generate appointments and quotes by means of proactive outbound prospecting and lead activity management in an effort to qualify and market our solutions to potential customers
  • Use of strong selling and influencing skills to set up qualified appointments
  • Consistent use of sales approach and techniques based on product or service solutions
  • Log, track and maintain customer contact and contact records
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products / services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Occasional travel to field locations
  • Qualifications

  • Sales experience in oil and gas drilling, completions or production products and / or services
  • Technology diploma or undergraduate degree preferred
  • Results orientated with an ability to build strong relationships while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team atmosphere

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of workflow systems and their application to customer business process improvement
  • Ability to make formal and informal presentations to staff and clients
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals
  • Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and be self-motivated
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics This position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta
