Our National Capital Office is presently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer. To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following :
Participate in business development and proposal preparations
Provide technical guidance to junior staff members
Selection of building structural systems based on loads and sound engineering judgment
Perform design and preparation of structural contract documents
Carry out inter-disciplinary coordination activities
Execution of Building condition reports and pre-purchase inspections.
Provide technical guidance and engineering support for construction activities
Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and neatness of contract document deliverables
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (P. Eng and OIQ designation) with at least 10-15 years of industry-related experience
Extensive experience with concrete rehabilitation, waterproofing systems, fall arrest / restraint systems would be preferred.
Solid understanding of project budgeting and ability to mentor junior staff members.
Knowledge of local market and clienteles
Competent leadership & business skills
Working knowledge of Canadian building codes and industry standards
Bilingual (French and English)
Experience in structural design of buildings and other structures
Experience in construction contract administration
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced team environment
A high level of interpersonal communication skill, both verbal and written
Ability to make decisions using sound engineering and business judgment
Able to work independently and in a team environment
