The Role

This role is responsible for leading, planning, directing and controlling multi-tasks performed by associates to achieve the desired goals of the department in a timely, accurate and safe manner.

The supervisor motivates associates and maintains a positive working environment to achieve building targets while living the company values.

This position is responsible for management of the productivity and processes, talent development and for the overall improvement of the areas quality and efficiency.

A supervisor interacts and works with other department to investigate and resolve problems and vendor / carrier issues. Maintain a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Review reports pertaining to the key performance metrics of the department to ensure all KPI’s are being met
  • Evaluate process and recommend changes in order to improve efficiency. Has a thorough understanding of all departmental processes
  • Lead and support team through change. Support, implement and drive projects initiated to improve building performance as it relates to safety, quality, productivity, scheduling and service
  • Anticipate and prevent errors, and serve as a liaison with appropriate departments to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Maintain department compliance with company operating policies and procedures
  • Review procedures, ensuring workable and updated policies are in place
  • Produce reports by collecting data pertaining to the key performance metrics of the team. (i.e. Productivity reports)
  • Work with Team Leads and associates to ensure targeted requirements are met as it relates to safety, quality, productivity, scheduling and service
  • Ensure daily department work requirements and scheduled and assigned; monitor regularly and answer questions as they arise
  • Ensure department hours are planned to meet the workload demand and adjustments are made as required.
  • Prioritize duties and responsibilities of Team Leads
  • Provide clear direction and communication on action plans and due dates
  • Follow-up on action plans and hold the team accountableCoach and train for successful work-life balance
  • Provide and solicit feedback including recognition and motivation
  • Execute on-going performance review and development; assist with recruitment and retention of associates
  • Assist in developing and implementation of policies and procedures for the department
  • Advise Manager of high risk areas or concerns within the department
  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a Logistics role
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification / training in logistics related operations is preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams consisting of at least 15 individuals
  • Experience in a fast paced environment; must be able to work well under pressure, have great attention to detail, and have the ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to deal with customers internal and external
  • Operational knowledge of general warehouse Material Handling Equipment (Forklifts, Walkies, Clamp Trucks)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills specifically related to MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Shift / Hours : 3 : 30pm to Midnight, Sunday to Thursday
