The Onboard Host is responsible for delivering on our brand promise of guest service excellence onboard the Rocky Mountaineer by providing friendly genuine hospitality and being a creator of life changing experiences.
They maintain all best practice standards and procedures.
Delivers on our brand promise of creating a world class Life Changing Experiences for our guests.
Makes every guest feel welcomed and valued by anticipating their needs, being attentive and providing a flawless service.
Provides personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
Listens with empathy, finds solutions and follows through when resolving guest issues.
Assumes responsibility of nurturing the experience by initiating guest contact
Provides consistent and engaging Storytelling to guests pointing out areas of interest and pertinent information regarding the route and history of the region as per Best Practice Standards.
Prepare and deliver beverage, meal, and snack services according to established Best Practice Standards for the special service (SilverLeaf or GoldLeaf) in a positive, polished, and professional manner.
Handle sales of all revenue products including : alcoholic beverages, merchandise, and motor coach transfers.
Complies with all safety and health regulations.
Prepare coaches as required (pillows, blankets, galley set up, and cart preparation) and perform daily inventory counts.
Clean and stock coaches, galleys and washrooms to set standards at the end of each trip.
Maintain cleanliness of assigned coach throughout the day including galleys, vestibules and washrooms. Assist in keeping the crew car and other guest areas clean, neat and tidy.
Maintain correct inventory levels and reconcile as required at the end of each trip.
You will have
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Polished and professional demeanor
Comfortable delivering engaging commentary to large groups, public speaking experience is considered an asset.
Motivated and demonstrates an I care and I can do attitude.
English language skills must be of a very high competency and the ability to speak a second language (Mandarin, Spanish, French or German) is considered an asset.
Experienced in full dining room food and beverage service delivery is considered an asset

Serving It Right and FoodSafe certified
Physical Demands and Special Criteria :
Exceptional physical and emotional stamina with the ability to work long days
Continuous physical tasks are required throughout the shift (e.g, walking, standing, lifting, wiping and reaching)
May lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Able to travel away from home base for up to 6 days at a time
Able to travel into the US, if required (optional)
Must be available March through October, both months inclusive, without any outside restraints to work, including school commitments
Must be eligible to work in Canada for the entire season
