In keeping with the mission, vision and values of Headwaters Health Care Centre, the Supervisor is responsible for the Hospital general administration and management of all departments and staff in the absence of the Management and Administrative teams.
He / she provides an environment that supports professional practice and leads the team in implementing evidence-based practices within a patient centred care philosophy.
The successful candidate will create an environment that supports staff and patient safety and quality improvement. He / she also communicates with patients and families and community resources to facilitate
patient-centered care. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :
Current registration from an Ontario Health Professions College
Baccalaureate Degree in a health related discipline or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 years recent and relevant leadership experience
Professional association membership as appropriate
Strong interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team
Possesses highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills and the ability to introduce and effectively facilitate change
Experience with adult learning principles
Demonstrated patient centred philosophy
Experience with unionized environment an asset
Clinical decision-making and organizational skills with a commitment to professional development.
Flexible, organized and self-directed; has initiative and independent judgement
Ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations
Possesses effective communication and conflict management skills.

Back to top 095-18 Temporary Full-Time Registered Nurse, ICU The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision of general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis, according to the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :
Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Coronary Care Level 1 (required), Level II (preferred)
Experience in a critical care setting (preferred)
Current BCLS certification
ACLS Certification or to be completed within 3 months
Completion of Critical Care Certificate (preferred) or commitment to enrolment and completion within 6 months
Experience with arterial lines and central lines maintenance
Experience with mechanical ventilation (preferred)
Excellent communication skills, leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize care and adapt to unexpected change in patient acuity
Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills
Required to be cross trained in the Emergency department and regularly scheduled in order to maintain competency
