Description

  • Application and evaluation of theoretical principles of learning in practice; understanding of learners with exceptionalities : behavioural, communication, intellectual, physical or multiple;
  • emphasis on Ministry legislation and implications of learning and assessment in diverse and inclusive classrooms; current trends of differentiated instruction in classroom situations.

    Minimum Requirements

    Masters degree in education required;PhD degree in education will be given preference. At least one of the following : 1) recent experience in teaching full-

    time in a school or working in the administration of a school board including two years of experience in implementing the Ontario curriculum in the Primary and Junior Divisions with specialist qualification related to the learning theories practices, or 2) current peer-

    review research file related to the learning theories practices, or 3) recent PhD comprehensive examinations related to the learning theories practices.

    Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum relating to the learning theories practices and of the documents of the Ontario Ministry of Education relating to the learning theories practices.

    Proven capacity to apply the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers. The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.

    An acceptable level of education / experience could be viewed as being equiv. to the educational require. and / or demonstrated experience If you are invited to continue the selection process, please notify us of any adaptive measures you might require.
