Distribution Centre Team Leader (VAS)

New Westminster, BC, CanadaManufacturingFull-timeAs the VAS Team Leader, your main duty is to work closely with the Value Added Service (VAS) / RA Supervisor to ensure that Arc’teryx is providing great VAS to customers and distributors, and fulfilling the customers’ needs while maintaining or exceeding KPI’s.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities :

  • You work hands on with the VAS team through all assigned tasks and create a unified team culture
  • You review vendor requirements and instructions in the agreement and develop checklists in order to follow and maintain customer VAS request and needs
  • You develop, maintain and update current customer VAS list and new customer requirements
  • You record each type of VAS job to validate the time and cost
  • You work with multiple teams to ensure department processes and goals are met
  • You maintain warehouse supplies inventory including but not limited to developing supplier list, recording expenses, and re-ordering
  • You participate in yearly VAS and Supplies budgeting process and quarterly forecasting
  • You obtain monthly metrics on VAS service and supplies
  • You provide training to new and existing VAS team members as required
  • You facilitate effective and productive communications within the team as well as outside the team and work closely with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • You follow Company regulations and procedures in order to uphold the Company’s quality and safety standards
  • You perform other duties as assigned
  • Additional experience, education and / or skills (required) :

  • You have 1 + years working in logistics / distribution environment with various customer VAS requirements
  • You have experience using MRP / WMS systems in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • You have knowledge of 5S, lean operations, KPI’s and other performance measurements, data analysis and statistical reporting
  • You have proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • You understand the value of KPI’s and statistics, but also know how to look beyond them when evaluating tasks and staff
  • You have the ability to work professionally both independently, and in a team
  • You have strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • You have previous team leadership experience and the ability to build, improve, and maintain team relationships
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You are a planner, but also know when to throw a plan out the window and adapt
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You communicate openly and equally to staff at every level
  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment
  • Additional experience, education and / or skills (assets) :

  • You have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work weekends when required
  • You have a formal education in logistics or warehouse management
  • You have fluency in a second language
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
