We are Eastern Canada's wireless network performance team, responsible for optimising the Radio Access Network (RAN), and finding new angles / methods to improve network performance, efficiently.
As a member of this team, you will be a part of a larger Broadband Networks Engineering (BNE) team that is providing TELUS customers with the most reliable network and the best user experience in every region of the country.

In our team, you'll ensure our customers' wireless experience continuously improves. Your "think outside of the box" and innovation will help shape our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that we use to govern our customers' wireless experience.
Also, your DevOps and automation mindset will provide inputs to our DevOps team to improve the quality and efficiency of the way we do network performance engineering.
You will :
Be own your own 'portfolio' and be responsible for the network performance of a specific region in Eastern Canada
Ensure network performance KPIs are meeting our targets, and are continuously improving
Troubleshoot network degradations, determine root causes, and look for ways to prevent or reduce the impact to our customers
Support network upgrades (band adds and new features) by analysing the impacts on performance, and proposing optimisations to enrich the overall customer experience
Aid our client support teams for escalated issues that may require network engineering to resolve
Be exposed to the latest wireless technology innovation planned for TELUS, and be ready to support their launch from a performance management perspective
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
3+ years of relevant professional experience
Excellent knowledge of 3GPP (LTE / UMTS / HSPA) access network design, optimisation and performance engineering : parameter optimisation, layer 3 messaging, mobility management and traffic balancing
Huawei RAN equipment knowledge : parameters, capabilities and limitations of the hardware and software portfolio
Good core network knowledge (VoLTE, EPC, IMS) and 5G technology roadmap
Proficient with U2000, ActixOne, Netscout and Planet
A keen interest in Software Defined Networking, Orchestration and Network Function Virtualization
Masters of Engineering or MBA
Programming skills for automation and big data manipulation
Machine / deep learning experience or certifications
Solid Agile software development and big data manipulation expertise
