Position Summary :

We have been engaged to identify a strong Web Administrator for a 6 months project, subject to extension, who will work as part of a team of Web / Unix / Weblogic Server Admins to support our client' worldwide web presence.

Our client has operations and divisions throughout the world and operates multiple country specific web sites. The Web Admin team is responsible for 24 / 7 support for a worldwide presence.

The technical environment is UNIX (AIX), Windows Server 2000 and 2003, Web Logic Portal , v8.x or 9.x1, SQL, Oracle, IIS, Apache / Tomcat / ColdFusion, SiteMinder / Sitescope and for e-

commerce web development Java / J2EE / .NET

  • The required consultant will operate as part of a team, will be part of rotating shifts responsible for 24 / 7 support of worldwide web sites, to perform analysis, as well as deploying, configuring, and tuning of web applications on Windows WIN2K / WIN2K3 and Unix (Solaris 8 / 9 / 10), preparation of and deploying BEA Weblogic and Windows Applications;
  • maintaining connectivity to SQL and Oracle databases; troubleshooting, reacting to service outages, service updates, security concerns and other issues.

    We are looking for candidates that have in depth at least 3 years supporting similar large enterprise environments for at least 4 years, in a UNIX, Windows Admin and web application (Weblogic, IIS, Apache) technical element.

    On-call work rotation element to this role is 24x7 for internal and external websites (off-hours and weekends - every 4 weeks)

    The detailed requirements are :

    Gathering and analyzing project requirements and identifying, estimating and tracking deliverables

    Trouble shooting problems (such as environment, hardware, software, performance, etc.)

    System capacity planning and proactive maintenance, and analyzing development server performance

    Creating and maintaining documentation in support of infrastructure and coordinating and scheduling environment upgrades

    Building and managing working relationships with external vendors

    Providing consultation and analysis to identify process improvements to reduce test time and cost as well as improve quality, accuracy and efficiency.

    Qualifications :

    The successful consultant for this role will have excellent communication skills, strong team work ethic, strong Unix (preferably AIX) Admin, Windows Admin experience.

    The key skill for this role are the ability and prior experience supporting similarly large enterprises, Web Logic Portal Deployment skills, and 24 / 7 rotation.

    Candidates who posses these skills, as well as the ones mentioned above, will command the higher end of the compensation scale.

    Compensation :

    between $45 / hr and $60 / hr
