As one of our highly regarded Bar Staff, your position will be responsible for the service and sales of beverages in the public bar or lounge, in addition to supplying an open deck service.
On a regular basis you’ll also run a wine station in one of the dining salons and assist with silver service tea-time. Providing prompt, attentive and courteous service backed by expert recommendations, you’ll ensure that all drinks are correctly garnished and served at the correct temperature and that your station is properly set.
Your cruise ship job will be responsible for handling sales transactions and assisting the bartender with requisitioning beverages and other items, as well as helping to control stock and maintain standards of upkeep and cleanliness.
Educated to diploma / degree level for this vacancy, you’ll have worked as a bar waiter in a fast-paced 4 or 5 star establishment, catering to an international clientele.
Your experience will cover premium and super premium beverages in all categories, with a good basic knowledge of wine service procedures and a practical grasp of operations and regulations.
You’ll have the ability to describe, recommend and promote products and where appropriate to up-sell, working in a team that’s focused both on generating revenue and exceeding guest expectations.
A strong command of English is essential, with good written and verbal communication.
