Creston is located on the south end of Kootenay Lake and has an approximate population of 6,000 people and has a surrounding catchment population of approximately 15,000.

Facility Details Creston Valley Hospital :

CVH is a 20-bed Acute Care Hospital with 24-hour on call physician emergency services. Acute patient services include Surgery, Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Dialysis.

Diagnostics are provided through imaging, ultrasound and lab. Support services are provided through pharmacy, dietary, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Visiting specialists provide General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ears / Nose / Throat, Neurology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radiology, Urology and Gastroenterology consultations to the Creston population.

The hospital operates a General Practitioner Surgical Day Program that includes Day Procedures, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and C-Sections.

Practice Details :

Opportunities exist in established clinics and in new spaces that will customize their space to your needs. There is strong collegial support between physicians that allows for work / life balance.

Physicians share after hour coverage giving them most of their evenings and weekends free. Strong clinical support is evident amongst the medical community and readily provided.

  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)Emergency experience
  • Qualifications : Doctorate in Medicine;Eligible for The Canadian College of Family Physicians Certification; Eligible for full or provisional licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia;
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory;Emergency experience; Have current ACLS with emergency experience required;
  • ATLS and PALS recommended; Surgery, Obstetrics or Anesthesia qualified (optional).
