Description Alpha Technologies Ltd. is looking for a proactive, customer centric, SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join our IT Team in our Burnaby facility.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will maintain the overall performance of our Windows based environment and underlying infrastructure.
We’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience with a large variety of software and hardware components; and who can jump right in with installing, configuring, monitoring, and optimizing network hardware, software, and networks to support the organization.

Work as part of a team to provide strategic and tactical solutions for IT across all locations
Support clients by spanning Tier 1, 2 and 3 support responsibilities including engaging external partners or vendors to remediate client support needs
Participate in design, installation, administration, and troubleshooting of core system technologies
Monitor network and server usage and perform preventative measures
Ensure the security of the company network and data
Maintain detailed and up to date documentation of company infrastructure
Provide first-rate internal support and excellent customer service to all departments within the organization
Provide on-call and off-hours support as required to ensure 24x7 operation
Follow all standard operating procedures and policies and all company and departmental guidelines
Technical Requirements :
Minimum 4 years IT experience with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies
Solid proficiency with Windows Server Platforms; Active Directory; IIS and Exchange Server
Experience configuring and troubleshooting a variety of virtualization products including VMWare VSphere, VMWare ESX and ESXi
Experience configuring and troubleshooting end user applications and issues.
Proficiency in sustaining Microsoft application and collaboration platforms
Proficiency configuring and supporting mobile devices
Experience with VoIP technologies
Adept with scripting capabilities including PowerShell
Experience with ITIL or ISO 20000
Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve PC hardware and software problems
