The Role : District Loss Prevention Manager - Based Out Of Ottawa

Reporting to the Divisional Profit Protection Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that Profit Protection programs are being executed within their designated region.

Providing critical direction regarding the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to store management level and front line employees.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates store processes for areas of opportunity, review with store management and staff and coach to correct performance.
  • Analyze store shrink performance, identify store / region specific trends, utilize Profit Protection tools including Alarm System Management, CCTV, Profit Protection Audit results and other Exception reporting databases to address deficiencies and monitor corrective action.
  • Utilize exception reporting, information, CCTV and POS data to identify incidents of fraud, theft, trends, policy and procedure violations, maintain case files, logs and reports.
  • Investigate incidents of theft and fraud, and partner with applicable Regional Director and Human Resources Personnel during the course of the investigation.
  • Lead the Profit Protection audit program within their designated region. In collaboration with store management and Regional Director prepare follow-
  • up corrective action plans to ensure that deficient areas are addressed at store level.

  • Facilitate meetings and training to all levels of store operations to provide quality learning and coaching to promote best practice sharing and learning opportunities.
  • Follow up and accountable for the review progress related to timely execution of shrink reduction plans, partners and tours with Regional Directors on store visits to ensure a high level of business partnership between LP and Operations.
  • Oversite for the Profit Protection technology assists components of any new store opening, relocation or renovation including quotes and the quality of installation for Intrusion Detection Alarm, CCTV, EAS, Store Keying and the installation of Safes (cash, pharmacy, and post office).
  • Lead region HSS Program for high shrink stores including High Shrink Review, Profit Protection Audit follow up, Action Plan development, implementation and execution.
  • Required Skills

  • Post Secondary Education in a relevant discipline required.
  • Must be comfortable with travel, 75% Travel.
  • 5-7 years of profit Protection management experience or an equivalent level of industry specific management experience.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Relevant working experience in a Project Management role.
  • Formal investigative and interview training (i.e. Wickerlander & Zulawski, Reid Technique).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, CCTV, Exception Reporting, and Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS).
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and investigative skills.
  • Labour relations experience and / or working within a unionized environment.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of investigation techniques, evidence gathering, chain of evidence, court procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer and the Microsoft Office Software Power Point, Excel and Word.
