Edelman Toronto’s Corporate Practice is looking for an Account Manager with 3-4years of relevant experience in communications and public relations, ideally inan agency environment, to join our Crisis and Risk Team.

You will be giventhe opportunity to own client relationships, drive the planning and contentcreation for internal and external communications programming and manage real-

timebreaking issues.You will help protectand evolve the corporate reputations of some of the world’s top companies.

Although direct crisis experience is nota prerequisite, your experience will include a robust knowledge of, and theability to, counsel clients on media relations strategies, internalcommunications, reputation management, and issues management, and you will havea solid understanding of digital communications and social media.

Candidatesmust demonstrate excellent writing skills, project management qualities and a trackrecord of leading and executing successful client programs that measurably supportclients’ business objectives.

We need a confident, driven anddetail-oriented individual who will cultivate both internal and clientrelationships and take initiative.

Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will have proven projectmanagement skills, including the ability to oversee projects on multiple clientaccounts.

You will have excellent written and verbal communications andpresentation skills, and a demonstrable knowledge of current events, mediachannels and social platforms.

  • Research, develop and project manage strategic andtactical implementation of crisis and issues management programs, includingboth proactive planning and preparedness projects, and reactive campaigns.
  • Own the client relationship on small to mediumsized accounts, managing day-to-day activity, strategic client counselling andeffective project staffing, with support from senior team members.
  • Proactively contribute to the development andgrowth of client accounts, working with and mobilizing Edelman specialties andresources across multiple offices.
  • Lead client service, organizational development,staff training and development and quality control on multiple client accounts.
  • Develop, write and edit strategic communicationsand stakeholder materials with a demonstrated understanding of client business,marketing and communication objectives.
  • Develop, write and edit mediamaterials, corporate announcements, issue positioning statements, notification letters,internal communiques, and social media content.
  • Oversee program tracking and monitoring, providingongoing strategic analysis of program results.
  • Begin to manage the billing and accountprofitability of small accounts.

  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Liberal Arts or comparable required; graduate / advanced degree an asset.
  • 3-4years of progressive experience in an agency communications consulting environment or relevant corporate communications team;
  • crisis communications or issues management experience is an asset, but not a prerequisite.

  • Depth of experience developing strategic external and internal corporate communication plans.
  • Experience managing account team members.
  • Experience integrating and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with or working on government relations and employee engagement is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented & highly organized, with experience and comfort managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, and ability to provide intuitive plain language understanding to clients.
  • Passion for, and experience in,responding to requests for proposals and new business pitches.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products, including PowerPoint, and a variety of social media analytics tools.
