Job Summary

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Insurance Software Trainer to join our Education Services team.

As an Insurance Software Trainer, you will provide guidance, recommendations, and training in the usage of Applied’s products within an independent insurance agency or brokerage.

You will conduct product training engagements either at a client’s location or virtually (80% travel) . You will train a variety of users in different roles and complexities of environments including Property & Casualty, Life & Health, Benefits, Financial Services, Retail Agencies, MGAs, Wholesales, brokers serving niche markets, etc.

Additional responsibilities include :

  • Effectively prepare and follow up on client engagements by compiling applicable, client-facing engagement summaries
  • Provide input into Education Services Content Development team regarding training materials (opportunities to participate in the creative development process are provided)
  • Help maintain a TEAM culture by assisting other Instructors and Services team members via researching questions during non-billable work time
  • Keep up-to-date with new product offerings and changes as they pertain to the insurance industry
  • Research and share best practices and tips related to Training, Learning & Development, Presentation Skills, and the like
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Computer Science, or other related discipline; or equivalent professional experience1-
  • 2+ year(s) experience in insurance either at an agency / broker or carrier

  • 1+ year experience with multiple insurance software such as rating, underwriting, broker management systems, claims processing;
  • experience with Applied and / or competitor products a plus

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; prior presentation and / or training experience helpful
  • Any mix of P&C and L&H or Benefits insurance knowledge
  • Competency in MS Office and Internet usage
  • 80% travel across US or Canada (dependent upon candidate location); must reside near major airport with multiple direct flight options
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required
