Siemens is currently looking for a Co-op Student - Industrial Engineering for Trench Limited (a Siemens company). The Trench group is a specialized manufacturer of high voltage equipment dedicated to serving the worldwide electrical industry, in both utility and industrial markets, through engineering, service and commitment.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform Time Studies and identify work pattern solutions
  • Collect data for Method Studies including layout process steps list of materials and documentation required for manufacturing operations
  • Data mine databases and spreadsheets to track performance and identify trends or opportunities for improvement
  • Kaizen support CI project collaboration
  • Study the production requirements using scientific methods to meet Productivity Improvement requirements
  • Qualifications

  • University or College Student of Industrial Engineering is highly preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing time study analysis, shop layouts and balance line activities that will improve the manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with the SAP system. Understanding of different modules and transactions (WC, BOM and Routing / PP-Module)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • AutoCAD experience with creation and modifications of plant layout drawings, process layouts etc.
  • Must have a good understanding of the Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques and be able to apply
  • Competency with MS Office software
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
