Town DescriptionThe Nipawin Medi Clinic operates as a primary healthcare group practice where physicians provide services for approximately 4,500 people within the community plus surrounding area.

Construction of a new clinic located beside the Nipawin Hospital started this summer and is scheduled to be completed this fall.

There are currently 10 family physicians and 1 general surgeon practicing in Nipawin.

Nipawin is on two beautiful lakes in the parkland of Saskatchewan, there is ample employment and business opportunities that exist, along with a strong retail and service sector.

It is entering into a further era of growth, opportunity, and prosperity thanks to a number of exciting new enterprises in the area.

It is a full service community with a top education system and growing post-secondary facilities. Its recreational programming embraces young and old alike, thus adding to the community’s quality of life.

Job Duties : Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Perform and assist in routine surgery, Deliver babies and provide pre-

natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.

Nipawin Hospital : 800 6th St. East Nipawin, SK S0E 1E0

Nipawin Medi-Clinic : 790 6th Street E. Nipawin, SK S0E 1E0

Start date : November 15th, 2017

Job Benefits

Forgiveable Loan (RFS) : $20,000.00 for a 2 year RFS commitment

Relocation Package

Housing and a vehicle are provided for the first 6 months of employment (or a payment in lieu)

Turnkey Practice- clinics in each location completed with clinic staff, patient files, equipment and supplies.

Education

  • Degree in Medicine, Completed Family Medicine Residency Training Program
  • Experience

  • No experience required, but considered an asset
  • Security & Safety

  • Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
  • A valid Saskatchewan driver's license
  • Credentials

  • Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)
