The Senior Commercial Representative provides commercial expertise, solutions and guidance related to the transportation and processing of Alberta Light Tight Oil (ALTO) production from wellhead to sales.
The role objectives include business development, commercial strategy development and execution, flow assurance, contract negotiation and management, Joint Venture and 3rd party stakeholder management.
Develop and execute effective commercial and negotiation strategies related to Upstream gathering, processing and transportation
Coach and support other team members in development and execution of commercial and negotiation strategies
Employ 3D Negotiation principals and tools in development of commercial strategies
Lead engagement and alignment of strategies with multiple internal and external stakeholders in relation to Joint Venture and Midstream commercial matters
Lead Opportunity Identification & Maturation of commercial opportunities across multi-discipline teams
Proactive identification and management of commercial opportunities to mitigate deferment risk to Shell production
Negotiate, draft and operationalize applicable Joint Venture and Midstream agreements
Align and drive delivery of integrated value with Shell downstream affiliates as it relates to natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude and condensate production
Translate complex information into clear commercial recommendations for decision making including preparation of presentation materials, Commercial Summaries, etc.
Awareness of commodity market fundamentals to understand issues that may have a direct and / or indirect impact on Shell.
Maintain solid external network, particularly with Joint Venture partners and area competitors to achieve support for non-
operated projects, flow assurance, and understanding competitor activities in Unconventional focus areas
Lead activities with respect to coordination of pipelines, plants, partners, and fields for flow assurance and revenue optimization
E2E Contract Management including analysis & reporting of contract performance, firm service commitments and utilization
This is a senior Commercial role within Canada Land & Contracts. As well as an individual contributor this position will provide coaching support to the broader L&C team and act as deputy team lead as required
Requires understanding of Upstream Business, Unconventional Commercial Assurance process, Opportunity Management & Realization, Canadian processing, pipeline infrastructure
Manage key relationships, including internal and external
Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrated business development, strategy and negotiations experience
Effective relationship management, leadership and communication skills
Bachelors Degree with 10+ years relevant experience, preference for commercial, finance or legal background
Knowledge of Unconventionals Upstream business activities, operating locations, pipeline operations, gas plant operations knowledge
Familiarity with energy / commodity marketing, understanding of the North American energy markets an asset
