What is the opportunity?

Enterprise & International Applications (EIA) is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and leading the development and support of application solutions for international businesses and enterprise functional areas within RBC.

In addition, we have two shared enterprise Centres of Excellence for Document Management, Workflow, Records Management and Enterprise Information Management, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse.

In this role you will lead application architecture for our Pega workflow applications; particularly for high complexity and high risk IT initiatives and provide thought leadership on capture aspects of architecture.

As a PEGA Architect you will assess and analyze client information business requirements, current state environment and workflow technology choices to evaluate solution alternatives that meet business sponsor needs.

What will you do?

  • Define end to end technical solutions that take into account enterprise architecture strategies, current state environment and constraints.
  • Analyse the viability of solutions to meet project timeline, budget and quality.
  • Identify technical issues and risks and define mitigation approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership to expedite projects from idea creation stage, leveraging cross-project knowledge, best practices and reusability to ensure alignment with RBC best practices and standards
  • Develop and present solution alternatives along with recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Lead the technical evaluation of identified solutions.
  • Work with technical systems specialists and business systems specialists to understand the current state and constraints for defining the future state architecture of applications & related interfaces.
  • Vette detailed designs in order to ensure compliance with defined ECM guidelines in concordance with RBC defined architecture principles.
  • Review and provide input into architecture artifacts (Solution Architecture Document, Architecture Decisions) as defined by the PMF / SDLC and reviews with Data Architecture, Security Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Lead Architects, Business Architects and the key project stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the application architecture are clearly articulated.
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • Solid track record with a variety of ECM technologies, particularly for Pega workflow and associated design / development practices.
  • In depth experience with storage, messaging and security protocols as well as a variety of technologies / approaches including J2EE, .
  • NET, mainframe, cloud, vendor products and multi-platform applications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a team environment with projects involving the integration of disparate types of technologies / platforms.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate options, make decisions and execute within an intense high-tech environment.
  • Nice-to-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study (computer science, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or other BS / BA degree with a concentration in computer science or information systems.
  • Total relevant IT experience of 7-10 years in multiple IT areas, of which at least 3 years doing infrastructure architecture on large programs / projects.
  • Awareness and familiarity with Enterprise Architecture best practices, frameworks & processes
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership abilities, comfortable managing issues in cross functional teams
