About our Client

Our client is a well-known construction company with projects throughout the Lower Mainland. They are looking for a Traffic Signal / Flag Person to join their team on a temporary-

to-permanent basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety of construction areas by control vehicular traffic.

Candidates must have or be willing to obtain a BC Traffic / Signal persons Certificate. This role will be based outside, and you must be comfortable standing all day and working in all weather conditions.

  • Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects
  • Discusses traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior visibility to oncoming traffic
  • Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern
  • Directs movement of traffic through the site, using sign, hand, and flag signals
  • Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers
  • Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites using signage
  • Records license number of traffic control violators for police
  • Qualifications

  • A valid BC Traffic / Signalpersons Certificate, or be willing to obtain this
  • Physically fit; in this role, you will need to see, hear, speak and write clearly. At times you will be reaching with your hands and arms, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
  • You will stand for long periods of time, and be required to lift sometimes heavy (up to 15kg) traffic signage

  • Must be physically able to move, assemble and place equipment (signage) in appropriate locations
