EY's Restructuring practice is currently looking for a Senior to join our team.a
As an integral member of our corporate restructuring practice, you will assist in the planning and execution of engagements including managing specific elements of larger projects and providing overall management for smaller engagements. This will involve :
Analyzing a company's current financial situation and recommending strategic alternatives
Performing viability assessments of companies and recommend solutions
Assisting in the development of business plans to support restructuring initiatives
Providing advice to creditors in the enforcement of their rights
Acting as monitor in the context of CCAA filings, or as receiver and manager or trustee in bankruptcy as circumstances dictate.
Interacting with client staff, bankers and legal counsel to obtain information, report findings and provide instructions
Dealing with creditors and other stakeholders
Anticipating and responding to technical and business issues
Supervising and conducting company research and business analyses
Developing and / or reviewing detailed financial models
Preparing high-quality memoranda, letters, reports and other correspondence for submission to the client or the court.
The right person will embrace the uncertainty and often fluid nature of the work and will have a "roll up the sleeves" attitude and a high level of creative energy and enthusiasm.
Larger engagements may extend over many months.
Skills and experience :
We are interested in candidates who fulfill the following criteria :
A CPA, CA, designation with two to four years of experience in a professional services firm or other business environment
Willing to enrol in the CIRP Qualification Program
Willing to sit for the oral board examination to qualify as a Licenced Insolvency Trustee
Skills in problem solving, situational analysis, creativity, negotiation and decision making
High level of technical competence in conducting financial analysis
Ability to prepare high-quality written communication
Ability to present in a clear, concise and confident manner to clients and other audiences
Advanced financial modelling knowledge and ability to prepare short-term cash flow projections
Comprehensive understanding of financial statement analysis
Ability to work either autonomously or with a team on a number of simultaneous projects
Effective time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
Strong interest in building a business network and participating in business development activities both alone and with other team members
From time to time, you may be called upon to work in our other Transaction Advisory Services sub-service lines, depending on their needs.
This position requires travel, as necessary.
