We are currently seeking a Pipe Inspector for our Supply Chain Yard Operations .

This role supports logistics and yard operations by performing tasks such inspecting tubular goods & coatings, handling, moving, loading and unloading materials by hand or using material handling equipment.

Using hand held devices to process stock in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, using inventory software to record pipes receptions and pipes shipments, check traceability and stock accuracy, complying with defined quality standards.

Employees will be required to work on-call approximately every other week, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs pipe inspection
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect pipe and / or pipe coatings
  • Maintain records of inspection as necessary
  • Inventory control, pipes reception and shipment
  • Perform minor repairs and cleaning to the equipment and facilities, maintaining a safe condition
  • Shop and equipment repairs, maintenance and cleanup as required
  • Follow all work instruction and safety requirements
  • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs : correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations;
  • participate in the Hazard Identification process

  • Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to effective yard and warehouse clean-up, yard maintenance, and operating company vehicle as required
  • Education / Experience :

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience inspecting and handling tubular products preferred, but candidates with general material handling, inventory and inspection experience will be considered
  • Familiar with basic inspection tools, gauges, instruments, etc.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Candidates with experience in shift and / or on call work are preferred
  • Knowledge of safe equipment operation and procedures, maintenance and cleaning standards
  • High School Education or equivalent is required
  • Class 5 Driver’s License required
  • Skills :

  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends
  • Problem solving, decision making and effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting
  • Time management skills and the ability to record pickups and daily records
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion by deadlines
  • Experience in Microsoft Office would be an asset
  • Strong proven analytical and organization skills
  • Attention to detail is critical in the role
