Reporting to the Senior Manager, Client Recruitment & Support Services, the Team Lead is responsible to manage a team of Recruitment Consultants along with a portfolio of internal clients.
This role is accountable to work directly with City of Edmonton business leaders, to understand business priorities, hiring volumes, sourcing strategies and recruitment implications.
You will focus on leadership and recruiting while directly leading a professional recruitment team and motivate them to drive results to the next level! Being close to the marketplace through benchmarking and networking, you'll analyze both recruitment and business trends to provide expert solutions in finding top talent.
You will provide governance & recommendations on collective agreement matters, on staffing processes, build talent pipelines and sourcing prospects.
You will build strong partnerships with business leaders to provide a proactive approach to talent acquisition by driving top diverse talent into hires.
Other key accountabilities include :
Coach and motivate staff to high levels of performance, promoting continuous improvement and ensuring a reputation of excellence in service
Ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and resources needed to perform their jobs effectively
recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and curate the team
Work with Supervisor and other Senior Consultants to identify training needs; performance management, deliver training and ongoing support in order to empower the Consultants to handle complex scenarios
Develop and implement staff performance development and management plans
Perform ongoing coaching and support for the purpose of monitoring, providing feedback, assisting with complex issues, resolving problems and maintaining staff morale
Facilitate issue and conflict resolution activities within the team
incorporate comprehensive recruitment strategies that will fill vacancies within an average of 48 days
Develop strategies to reflect best practices for Recruitment based upon extensive knowledge of the various business needs of Human Resources and the other departments
Develop candidate pipelines through offline sourcing methods including social media and emerging technology-based methods and professional networking
partner with clients to create interview plans and assessments
Develop strong and effective working partnerships with H.R. and internal teams to work collaboratively to meet goals and achieve the desired outcomes
Oversee the effective implementation of the Recruitment Lifecycle to ensure a defensible & transparent process is conducted each time
Ensure recruiting, interviewing and selection process are compliant with legal and collective agreement requirements
Work collaboratively with unions while managing selection grievances; interpret policies & collective agreements
Ensure policies, collective agreements, government requirements and legislated obligations are met
University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration with a major in Human Resources; other related disciplines may be considered
5 + years prior diversified recruitment experience with at least 2 of those years at a supervisory level; equivalencies to education / experience may be considered
Experience in unionized environments including a thorough understanding of employment regulations in Canada is required
Demonstrated history of delivering high quality professionalism at all levels while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the selection process
Ability to develop and communicate appropriate metrics, interpret trends and adjust strategies as needed in response to change
Strong supervisory, management, leadership, training, coaching and team-building skills
Strong consultative, project management and presentation skills
Ability to operate strategically and tactically as the situation demands
Exposure to Performance-based hiring; strong skills with Boolean searching, web tools, enterprise software, recruitment modes, Microsoft and Google applications and social media
Individual must be self-starter, goal oriented, quick learner and ambitious
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees including the ability to influence towards desired outcomes
Must have strong customer focus, business acumen, process management and communication and negotiation skills
Exemplary interpersonal, communication, time management, organizational, communication, persuasion, facilitation and influencing skills

Salary : $72,249 - $103,209 (Annually)
