NV-10The person in this position serves as a specialist in his / her area of expertise and contributes to the development and continuous improvement of large-
scale and complex technology environments. The incumbent is also responsible for optimizing computer environments.
General Information on the Position
More specifically, the person in this position plays a leadership role on the team. They are the first level of escalation and point of contact for the team;
they are the technological go-to person (coaching) and they assist the team leader with managing employees. They also help keep their sector’s practices up-
to-date. They are a support person for complex technical tasks, and address irritants and issues that impede the group’s efficiency.
Provide specialized technical support for computer or technology incidents reported by users or for complex and unusual service requests requiring in-
depth expertise and establish links with various providers.
Adopt an overall monitoring role to better understand and anticipate trends in his / her field of expertise and make appropriate recommendations with a view to developing best practices for the organization.
Develop or apply action plans to meet unit objectives, and assess impacts.
Serve as a resource person and coach in his / her area of expertise.
Assume a coordinator role with various work groups.
Perform complex hardware and software installations, configurations and upgrades requiring in-depth expertise.
Carry out complex installation, configuration and solution upgrading activities involving Java Middleware that require highly specialized expertise
Coordinate and manage technological mandates under their responsibility
Implement automations to help standardize the creation of various Middleware domains
Optimize functionalities to help improve system performance
Identify and communicate plans for optimizing or correcting systems and the underlying impacts of the changes
Oversee activities involved with conserving and updating technical support-related data and documentation
Develop implementation strategies and design programs or tools to help increase efficiency, performance, security and operational stability
Bachelor's degree in a related field
6 years of relevant experience
Experience with Java J2EE Middleware and application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, MQ, JBoss, etc.)
Solid knowledge of Java / JEE development
Knowledge of performance monitoring, tuning and analysis tools (Dynatrace, Nagios, Splunk, etc.)
Independent speaker, intermediate knowledge of English
