Crestline Coach Ltd. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer CNC Programmer to add to our Team.
Some of the key activities of this role include :
Analyze job orders
Review CAD models and / or engineering drawings
Make calculations to determine where and how materials should be processed
Define the best sequence of machining steps
Decide tools, speeds, feeds and fixtures to be used
Generate program code using SigmaNEST (or equivalent) to capture all these decisions
Run simulation tests
Conduct quality testing and correct / improve program code to increase efficiency, quality and safety
Work closely with machinists / operators to ensure the proper setup and operation of all CNC machines to maximize efficiency, safety of operations
Work closely with Engineering to ensure designs support effective and efficient operations
Work with Production and lead all manufacturing problem solving activities on the factory floor, leading to productivity, lead time, and quality improvements
Seek out problems, devise countermeasures, and follow through to successful implementation to the satisfaction of our internal customers
Lead the design, development, and production of all jigs and fixtures that may be necessary, including negotiating with external contractors, in some cases
Create and maintain all work instructions with inputs from key stakeholders, particularly Production and Engineering
Train operators in work instructions and standard work
Work with Engineering and Production to develop new processes for new product designs or updates
Support Safety & Quality Team as necessary
The successful candidate will have :
Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
Proficient in G-code and M-code programming
Minimum of three years’ experience as a CNC Programmer programming with 2D / 3D CAM / CAD software for multi-axis machining 2D & 3D projects, 3-
Axis CNC Routing, and CNC Bending Machines
Minimum of five years’ experience with a manufacturing company, preferably in a manufacturing support or problem-solving role
Practical experience in CAD / CAM software including : Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and SigmaNEST, metal manufacturing, design for manufacturing and practical fabrication is an asset
Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines
Knowledge in sheet metal bending with understanding of bend allowance / tooling
Experience with Project Management is an asset
Proficient in MS Office suite
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing is an asset
Experience with composite manufacturing is an asset
