Your Opportunity :
The Registered Nurse will report to a Unit Manager for Unit 4E4. The focus of care on 4E4 is the care of patients with pediatric medical conditions.
The successful candidate must be committed to Family Centered Care and be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Staff on 4E4 are also cross-trained to provide care on another pediatric medicine unit and may be requested to cross-train to other pediatric inpatient units.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-
being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.
You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be adaptable to a rapidly changing environment and have strong organizational skills.
Must also meet the following requirements : Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam done at the time of interview.
Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS course and the Stollery Medication Administration exam with 90% or more.
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be given to applicants with recent acute care pediatric experience.Experience with children with multiple or fragile medical conditions, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, and those who are chronically ventilated are considered assets and preferred.
