Job Introduction

Co-Ex-Tec is looking for an Assistant HR Manager who will lead a team of Human Resources professionals to develop programs and processes that continuously improve operations and employee engagement to reflect the spirit of the Magna Employees' Charter.

The ideal candidate is driven, innovative, and highly knowledgeable in Human Resources legislation, industry best practices, and employee relations.

Major Responsibilities

The Assistant Human Resources Manager will interpret and advise managers, supervisors and employees on policies and procedures relating to all areas of Human Resources.

The role will ensure recruiting and training needs are met, motivate and engage employees, and continuously develop the organization's skill level.

This individual will coach and coordinate a team of Human Resources professionals to ensure courteous and efficient service to employees while driving problems toward resolution and establishing and administrating Human Resources policies and practices to support our internal and external customers’ needs as partners in the business.

Knowledge and Education

Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management. CHRL certification preferred.

Work Experience

Minimum 5 years previous experience in a progressive Human Resources department taking on increasing responsibilities.

Prior HR leadership experience.

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent oral, written interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly self-motivated and flexible
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand issues, develop actions, and implement long-term solutions
  • Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use
  • Must be capable of working under pressure with short completion times on projects and of working flexible hours in order to meet both internal and external customer requirements
  • Sound knowledge of labour relations, health & safety and environmental legislation in Ontario
