McKesson Canada’slargest and newest Distribution Center is located in the heart of Quinte West, situated onthe shores of the beautiful Bay of Quinte.

The Trenton Distribution Center isconveniently located directly along the Highway 401 corridor approximately 30minutes east of Cobourg, 1 hour east of Oshawa and 1 hour west ofKingston.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Day Shift Manager, the Distribution Centre Supervisor supervises the operations in a specific area(s) / department(s) as established by policies and procedures.

The position will maintain and increase the level of productivity, staff morale and staff co-operation.The position is responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures are followed.

You are responsible for the enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations and McKesson Canada Health and Safety policies and programs to ensure employee safety.

Section A Specific Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Ensure that incoming goods and products are processed and put away accurately, efficiently, without damage, in a timely manner, according to our processes and procedures, to ensure that customer orders are prepared and shipped with the highest degree of efficiency and accuracy within the established timelines.

Communicate staff work schedules and duty assignments as well as approve scheduled vacations.

Ensure work practices occur in each specific work station within the distribution centre environment in accordance with established operating procedures.

Emphasize productivity without compromising safety, quality, or accuracy and maintain budgetary allotted hours.

Assign functions to all individuals and monitor any individuals who are not executing their assigned functions.

Plan and implement continuous improvement programs within the distribution centre, working with other supervisors on all shifts to create a productive and cohesive operation.

Establish and maintain / improve daily operational standards and efficiencies.

Ensure that all employees are aware of the health and safety issues by offering training, verbal and written procedures and enforcement of safe operating procedures.

Actively participate and promote a safe, positive work environment for McKesson Canada employees.

Enforce the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations and McKesson Canada Health and Safety policies to ensure employee safety.

Conduct regular safety talks, workplace inspections (as scheduled) and perform accident / incident investigations when required.

Evaluate employees’ performance through prescribed training programs and regular observations to commend / correct work practices and to encourage and assist them with their development.

Take immediate action in correcting substandard / unsafe acts or conditions.

Ensure the equipment, materials and protective devices prescribed are provided, maintained in good condition and used as prescribed.

Ensure that employees are fully trained and are aware of their responsibilities.

Produce a daily shift update email.

Address any employee inquiries or issues pertaining to their employment.

Safely clean and document any breakage or spillage of hazardous materials (cytotoxic and dangerous goods).

Qualifications

Section B Main Responsibilities

Train employees; evaluate their performance; encourage and assist them with their development.

Approve time sheets for payroll.

Administrative support and metric tracking.

Ensure that company policies are respected.

Maintain appropriate communication with all levels of the organization.

Ensure that work areas are kept safe, organized and clean.

Follow company Health and Safety policies.

Ensure that all employees are aware of, and comply with, health and safety requirements and principles outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations by offering training (e.

g. orientation and safety talks); verbal and written safe operating procedures; perform regular workplace inspections; and enforce safe operating procedures and personal protective equipment.

Section C Key Requirements

College or university degree in a related field is preferable.

Clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Center) check.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations preferred; previous supervisory experience in warehouse operations preferred, preferably in the area of Put Away.

Proven ability to lead a group of highly engaged employees while ensuring productivity targets are met or exceeded.

Excellent problem solving / resolution skills.

Proven ability to be a team player and work in a team environment, but also able to take initiative and work independently.

Strong focus of customer service and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Ability to challenge processes and seek out process improvements or creative ways of safely and accurately completing tasks.

Must be familiar with, and able to work with, computers and automation.

Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)

Strong computer skills : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AS400
