    Reporting the Quality Control Manager, the successful candidate will work 12 hours per shift (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am), on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, on a days and nights rotational schedule.


  • Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P’s quality standards;
  • Monitors the quality of all raw and finished products through bacterial, chemical organoleptic evaluation;
  • Collect and perform microbiological and organoleptic analysis on various incoming ingredients and finished dairy products;
  • Prepare a variety of microbiological media and chemical solutions required for use in the lab;
  • Collect and analyses various environmental samples taken throughout the plant;
  • Analyse ingredient and finished product samples for various chemical and microbiological components;
  • Assist in the proper maintenance of equipment used for this duty;
  • Assist to investigate customer & consumer complaints;
  • Communicate results to QC Supervisor and provides troubleshooting evaluation and assistance to Production and Maintenance;
  • Assesses plant sanitation and general housekeeping;
  • Perform HACCP related tasks as assigned;
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.


    Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology. A two year post-secondary diploma in Food Processing, or a University degree in Dairy Science, Food Science or Microbiology preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, computer systems and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Training in the application of microbiology to the food and dairy production plant and to plant sanitation (an asset);
  • Microbiological laboratory ability;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
