What is the opportunity?
As the Trade Applications, Development Manager, you will lead and oversee activities of Development staff on assigned programs / projects and releases within Payment Solutions Technologies.
You will ensure program / project strategic goals or objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope and budget.
What will you do?
Leads the development of new or significant changes to application initiatives / processes including making recommendations for the use of external vendors and third parties and manages the relationships at the application / team level.
Facilitates joint planning with the client in the early stages of program / project formation and works closely with Architecture, QA, BSAs, internal and external IT teams on all aspects of software development of the applications / initiatives in portfolio.
Creates metrics and manages with a higher level of information i.e. at the trends and management indicator level; differentiates between project and program metrics.
Champions strong IT governance in the program decision framework and mentors project managers in its development and continuous improvement and manages program / project scope using appropriate fact-
based metrics / assumptions.
Resolves complex issues and conflicts (including architectural direction vs. technology constraints); escalates to executive level where required.
Responsible for the integration of technology solutions and promotes innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices.
Makes recommendations for the use of external vendors and third parties and manages the relationships at the application / team level.
Sets direction and vision for the team and builds development capability on the team.
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science Degree or equivalent
Demonstrated leadership ability
Successfully and simultaneously managed the development aspects of a minimum of 3 Type 2 projects and / or Type 1 IT development project with emphasis on integration and new technology
Vendor management experience
SDLC, AGILE, DevOps, Waterfall and other software lifecycle frameworks
Requires strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
