  • Responsibilities include :

  • Monitoring and delivering nursing services to clients as directed by the physician’s plan of treatment and the interdisciplinary client plan of care.
  • Coordinating the care of all assigned clients.
  • Identifying client needs, making recommendations to other team members and participating in client care conferences.
  • Reporting on the condition of the client to all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team as well as with families from a diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Good organizational skills, with an ability to be flexible and adapt to effectively meet the changing needs and priorities of the unit.
  • Good attendance and work record required.
  • Weekly team scheduling.

  • Valid CNO registration
  • Professional liability Protection Insurance
  • Current police check - Criminal and vulnerable screening check conducted within the last 12 months
  • TB test conducted within last 12 months
  • Current CPR
  • Specialized experience in areas of IV therapy, wound care, pediatrics, mental health, geriatrics, palliative care, peritoneal dialysis and foot care an asset.
  • Previous experience in the visiting program an asset.
  • Leadership skills an asset.
  • Effective client and staff teaching skills
  • Ability to communicate with all members of the health care team
  • Ability to effectively deal with multiple changes
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs
  • Flexibility with scheduling
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Must be able to cover rural areas in Peterborough
  • Must be able to work both community visits and shifts
  • Work shifts of one hour or longer
  • Work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Availability to work evening visits,
