The Automation Engineering Department within WorleyParsons Ltd. provides Instrumentation, Process Controls and Telecommunications expertise related to the design and construction of oil and gas production and processing facilities.
Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner.
Ensure all design work conforms to industry codes and standards and any specific project standards.
Take responsibility for the Instrumentation tasks and deliverables to meet quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Provide Instrumentation design support to multidisciplinary teams including interdisciplinary reviews.
Produce specifications and detailed design of Instrumentation systems and materials, including :
Calculations for Instrument Air Loading and Thermowells.
Valve selection and sizing
Data sheets for instrumentation such as PSVs, control valves, flow elements, and transmitters.
Production of the Instrument Index.
Create Construction / Engineering work packages.
Create Scope of Work documents.
Participate in P&ID design.
Vendor document review and approval.
Support scope definition, estimation and progressing of tasks and deliverables.
Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the WorleyParsons and Client Quality Assurance systems.
Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in instrumentation & process controls engineering.
Resolves discrepancies between WorleyParsons and client requirements.
Monitor scope changes and utilize Management of Change processes.
Always perform self-checking on all your deliverables.
What you will bring
4 - 10 years of past experience in Instrumentation within an EPC environment and a complete understanding of the engineering documents associated with Instrumentation.
Experience in the petroleum industry including conventional, SAGD, Oilsands, refining, etc.
Experience with SPI.
Experience with both Brownfield and Greenfield projects.
Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code.
P. Eng, PL(Eng) or P.Tech an asset (Alberta).
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Diploma in Instrumentation Technology or Engineering Degree.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
