The Supervisor Accounting is responsible for the effective financial and operations management of Waterfront Shipping (WFS) and the leadership and overall guidance of the WFS accounting and finance function.
Primary responsibilities include financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation. This role supports the development of the accounting and finance function to meet the growing needs of WFS.
Leads the Waterfront Shipping Finance Team and oversees the high-quality delivery of accounting services to Waterfront Shipping including A / R, A / P and cash flow.
Supports the Management Team in meaningful continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsible for financial and management reporting including monthly, weekly and annual financial statements, maintaining and monitoring KPI’s and bench marking including cost indicators, utilization and operational statistics.
Developing and maintaining annual budgets and forecasts.
Special projects including transfer pricing analysis, and freight analysis.
Key and responsible party for all internal and external audits.
Acts as main contact and super-user representing Waterfront Accounting for all IMOS requirements, upgrades, patches and testing.
University degree in a Business and / or Finance field (Commerce / Accounting / Economics)
Professional accounting designation preferred
5-7 years accounting experience
Previous management experience leading a team
Sound technical accounting and financial knowledge with good analytical skills
Experience in shipping and methanol industry preferred
Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills and the ability to handle complex worksheets
Experience with corporate financial information systems
Ability to meet deadlines and comply with reporting requirements
Solid interpersonal and communication skills
