Adhere to the provisions of the Bankruptcy andInsolvency Act to support Collections with the processing of all Bankruptciesand Consumer Proposals.

Accountable for documenting and uploading all BMO Bankof Montreal accounts relating to Bankruptcies and Consumer Proposals to ourbusiness partner(s) in a professional and timely manner.

Non-PerformingAccount Resolution

  • Analyze, document, recommend,approve / decline financial transactions
  • Resolvecustomer issues / inquiries and non-performing accounts to determine appropriatesolutions
  • Executeestablished procedures for the successful resolution of non-performingaccounts, adhering to all applicable guidelines, requirements and regulations
  • Respondto customer-initiated requests and work with customer to resolve delinquency ina manner beneficial to all parties
  • Effectivelyliaise with third party vendors to request and follow-up on documents.
  • Usesound judgement when applying procedures related to, interest reversals,cancelling auto-payments and preparing accounts for write off and abandonment.
  • Applystrong negotiation skills when required
  • Keepmanagement apprised of complex or high risk situations or issues
  • Buildand maintain constructive relationships with internal and external businesspartners, suppliers, vendors and regulatory officials
  • Stayabreast of and incorporate changing regulations and procedures and ensurecompliance
  • Maintenance andMonitoring

  • Maintainaccurate and timely information and records in Bank and vendor systems
  • Analyzepertinent reports and function-specific data / metrics to identify delinquencies,default, other non-performing accounts
  • Providecourteous and timely follow-up to calls and correspondence
  • Monitorproceedings in accordance with bank policies and applicable state and federallaws and guidelines
  • Maintaincontact with past due customers throughout resolution process to ensureappropriate follow-through and resolution
  • Function-SpecificProjects

  • Completefunction-specific or special projects as requested or required in accordancewith established procedures, regulations and policies
  • Otheradministrative duties as assigned
  • Risk Management

  • Ensurecompliance with government regulations, internal policies, procedures andguidelines for the purpose of audit and compliance
  • Minimizelosses by ensuring timely portfolio processing and effective decision making
  • Stay abreast of where risk / impact resides.
  • Make recommendations for reducing risk.
  • Working understanding ofConsumer Collections and relevant function areas, including regulatory andconsumer guidelines.
  • Understand and achieve theprescribe defined targets within the role to effectively resolve delinquentaccounts
  • Strong portfolio managementskills
  • Good conflict management& resolution skills
  • Resolve all incomingcustomer / client calls, both internal and external queries
  • Attention to detail whiledocumenting all activity and conversations on respective systems
  • Working knowledge offederal, state / provincial and local laws pertaining to the Bankruptcy andInsolvency Act (BIA) Consumer Collections and functional areas
  • Good knowledge ofprovincial PPSA legislations and legal remedies
