What is the opportunity?

The Senior Communications Manager, Cloud Initiatives is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive set of strategic initiatives and communication plans to support all activities for the Cloud team.

The Cloud team is a new team going through significant change and transformation in leadership, the services we provide and how we operate.

The incumbent will be responsible for strategic initiatives such as training programs, internal team communications (i.e.

Cloud team) and communication to our RBC stakeholders (i.e. internal lines of business and functions). This role presents an opportunity to be a community builder through the promotion of collaboration and the influencing of behaviour.

What will you do?

  • Develop, execute and maintain a comprehensive strategic communication plan that supports Cloud’s strategy and vision.
  • Create marketing and communication tools that articulate the Cloud’s team vision, strategy, processes, services, capabilities, and key business initiatives to key stakeholders.
  • Grow and maintain the Cloud community through events, training initiatives and internal communications.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to the Cloud team regarding stakeholder communication strategies and tactics to support transformational initiatives.
  • Anticipate and address reputational issues with significant potential for negative impact to the Cloud program.
  • Lead the introduction of operational and process-driven initiatives to ensure that the team’s unique culture is maintained within the context of the broader RBC organization.
  • Lead the introduction of employee engagement initiatives to drive clear communication of vision, goals, norms, and internal team career progression.
  • Create and track team initiatives and regularly report to executives.

    Must-have

  • Strategic communication and change experience : solution-oriented mindset with experience in complex communications planning and large-
  • scale change initiatives

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and illustrate the business value we provide to our stakeholders
  • Exceptional knowledge of communication tools, templates and technology
  • Experience working with senior executives in a diverse and demanding environment; energetic, proactive, curious, results-
  • focused, and deadline-sensitive

  • Working experience in working in a technology or banking-related field
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Strong ability to impact and influence without formal authority
  • Nice-to-have

  • Post-secondary degree in communications-related studies (e.g. public relations, communication, business)
  • 8+ years of experience working in a mid- to large-size corporate environment
  • Branding or design experience
