The Business Development Director, Infrastructure has an academic background in planning, engineering or environmental science and at least 10 years of business development experience with engineering consulting firm.

Extensive business development experience in the Ontario and / or Alberta market would be a definite asset.

It is expected that this person will be well known and respected in one of the target markets and will have the ability and background to successfully sell the key services that we currently have in our Infrastructure offices in Ontario and Alberta.

The previous experience in packaging engineering and environmental services would be a definitive asset. This person will be energized by being given aggressive business development goals (expectation is to build >

$5 million in new business over next 2 years) and will work collaboratively with our Infrastructure staff and key business development resources within MH.

Responsibilities :

  • Business Development Director for the MH Infrastructure Group with a primary focus on the Ontario and Alberta geographic markets
  • Lead generation, opportunity identification, and sales leads for all municipal and land development opportunities in Ontario (80% of time), focusing on opportunities where we can leverage our Ontario and Alberta Infrastructure service line
  • Manage proposal team and sales workflow in Microsoft Dynamic CRM
  • Development of an Infrastructure Services Market Expansion Plan within 3 months of start date including 6-month Action Plan and specific relevant goals / targets (revenue and other)
  • Lead implementation of Infrastructure Market Expansion Plan
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for identified target and key clients
  • Opportunity to take a broader role in expanding our exposure to markets outside of target geographic areas (e.g., British Columbia, Manitoba) as opportunities and needs arise
  • Project manager and / or senior infrastructure consultant on projects in area of specialty (e.g., planning or engineering) with focus on the alignment of project staff delivery with the key client requirements (20% of time)
  • Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate degree in either planning, engineering or environmental science
  • 15 or more years of consulting experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a predominantly business development role
  • Prominent exposure to and stature within at least one major client sector in Ontario and / or Alberta (ideally municipal or land development) as evidenced by current industry association involvement, conference presentations, etc.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and client relationship skills
