AECOM's Transportation business line is actively seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer for immediate employment in the Mississauga, ON office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :
Civil and Municipal designer for road and transit infrastructure projects
Design for grading and drainage
Design of utility protection and relocation
Design of roads and parking lots
Construction staging design
Undertake concept, preliminary, and detailed designs
Permit applications and coordination of third party stakeholders
Prepare quantity take-offs
Evaluate technical alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines.
Work in a team environment, collaborating with Project Managers and organizing and directing less experienced / technical staff
Prepare technical memoranda outlining design options, impacts, and recommendations
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or other related field
2+ years of experience
P.Eng. licensed in Ontario or eligible for licensing
Experience in design development and production of construction drawings for civil and / or municipal projects
Extensive experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D or MicroStation and Bentley InRoads
Technical writing skills
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with municipal and road authority standards
Experience designing transit / rail projects is an asset
Construction field experience
CAD Management and Leadership
