Position : Human Resources Generalist
Reports to : Divisional Human Resources Manager
Duties / Responsibilities
Support HR policy and procedure development, implementation and communication to ensure consistency and compliance across two manufacturing facilities and one services facility.
Actively recruit, interview and onboard new employees and continuously employ creative methods of attracting new talent to organization.
Assist in managing and administering employee benefits, pension and disability claims.
Develop relationships with local educational institutions (grade schools, high schools, colleges, universities) to promote as an employer of choice to attract and retain top up and coming talent
Coordinate, assist in the development, and implement workplace initiatives to increase safety, quality, and productivity.
Coordinate development and implementation of training programs to improve work force and maintain consistency within operations to meet overall corporate directives.
Coordinate and evaluate performance management and employee development processes including disciplinary activities.
Identify any potential litigation cases and bring to attention of management as necessary.
Implement and coordinate succession planning development actions as necessary.
Maintain and update regulatory compliance as required.
Support management team to maintain Health and Safety program and initiatives (WSIB, Safety Group)
Lead wellness activities within the division
Education / Experience
Degree or diploma (business preferred)
CHRP designation or in pursuit of
MOL JHSC level 1 and 2 certification
Experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment preferred
2+ years of Human Resources experience is preferred
Time management skills
Ability to train and develop employees
Able to multitask efficiently
Able to work under pressure
Ability to delegate tasks appropriately
Ability to take ownership and responsibility for their work
Strong communication and organizational skills
