Position Summary Information and Communication Engineering Technology (ICET) Department School of Engineering Technology & Applied Science (SETAS) Part-

time / ContractThe successful candidate will be responsible to teach in a classroom, computer laboratory, online, and / or field settings and provide program support for course development, curriculum development, and on-

going future program needs. The programs include Software Engineering Technology, Interactive Gaming, Health Informatics, and Mobile Applications Development.

Responsibilities

  • Teach using a variety of strategies to support student-centered learning
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication and knowledge of cultural competency in interactions with the public, colleagues, other professionals and students in internal and external educational and practice settings
  • Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
  • Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques
  • Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a team-based work environment
  • Use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning
  • Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based upon the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
  • Attend meetings and maintain records of student grades / assessments
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and industry experience in software development
  • Previous teaching experience at the post secondary level is an asset
  • Industry experience with one or more of the following :
  • Programming & Web Development (Java / EE, C#, JavaScript, HTML 5, Angular JS, Node JS, ASP.NET MVC)
  • Data Structures & Algorithms
  • Databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Mobile Development (Android, iOS)
  • Gaming (Unity) o API / Cloud Computing
  • Data Mining o Software Testing
  • Health Informatics o Software Security
  • Operating Systems (Unix / Linux)
  • Experience in course material development is an asset
  • Demonstrated competent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community
