Description The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the accounts payable process and function in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

This position directs and oversees the daily management of the accounts payable staff and processes associated with the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing of purchase orders, receiving and payment of invoices and communication with buyers.


  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Manages the AP department of 3 members
  • Supervise and manage all AP functions in 2 ERP systems
  • Timely payment of vendor invoices
  • Full capture of vendor discounts within company parameters
  • Vendor maintenance
  • Manages monthly closing of financial records related to accounts payable and accruals
  • Bank transactions for CAD, USD and Euro accounts, including bank rec, currency exchange, hedging FX contracts, and cash flow projections
  • Assists controller to complete month-end reporting and expense analysis
  • Government VAT filing and reporting,
  • Assists AR doing Cash receipts, and GL USD deposits
  • Responsible for strategic AP goals to continual improvement of DPO
  • Identifies methods to streamline and improve processes
  • Develops, implements and maintains AP systems, including written policies and procedures
  • Responds to financial questions / concerns from local management and develops reporting to meet the needs of the business managers
  • Manages the external audit process related to AP functions and invoice testing
  • Trains, coaches and evaluates employees to enhance their performance Qualifications As the Accounts Payable Manager, you must have the following to be considered for this role :
  • Must be proficient with computer systems including a mainstream ERP, automated AP system and Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors and upper management
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address issues in collaboration with others while acting objectively to best accomplish the organizational goals
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting preferred
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience is required;
  • Minimum of 1-year experience managing a team; preferably in accounting / AP function;
