Reporting to the Director, HPDI Quality, the Project Manager, Product Quality will work closely with with Engineering, Purchasing as well as other Quality Engineers in Europe and Vancouver.
The main focus of this role will be to support the cross functional team in customer issue resolution with a strong focus on project management.
The role also manages quality related activities in the Change Management process, including preparation of the customer PPAP package.
Position Responsibilities :
Lead the MRB (Material Review Board) meeting, facilitating decisions on containment and disposition activities, such as RTV (return to vendor), rework or temporary acceptance of non-conformance.
Lead product failure investigation process, liaising with engineering teams, quality engineers in our European operations and Vancouver as well as operations team
Generate 8D response to customer issues and lead the review with management team
Generate cross functional schedules / timelines to support 8D response to customer, customer campaigns, as well as change management
Lead containment activities for critical issues, including field campaigns
Identify potential quality risk of supplied product and take appropriate containment and fault elimination action
Interact routinely with purchasing, operations and engineering to proactively improve quality of components
Perform critical reviews of quality performance metrics, identifying roadblocks and developing action plans to report back to management
Assist suppliers in the qualification and implementation of important product or process changes
Help developing and improving department procedures as required
May be required to provide some technical training to other employees
May be required to travel to our global supply base to support Supplier Quality activities, including Supplier Product and Process Audits and provide support for supplier quality improvements
BSc. in Engineering or similar
Strong knowledge of cross functional project management
3+ years experience in Project Management
3+ years experience in Quality Engineering
Experience in a Manufacturing environment for mechanical and electrical components, understanding of process capabilities
Experience with engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
Must have demonstrated ability in trouble shooting and analysis of issues of complex nature
Must be familiar with the fundamentals of ISO 9001 and IATF16949
Strong knowledge of AIAG PPAP process
Ability to communicate effectively across departments, time zones and different levels of management
MS Office proficiency; Minitab is an asset
Audit experience; Internal and / or external Auditor certification is an asset
Global experience with multinational suppliers is an asset
Ability to travel (global)
