The Vac Truck Operator reports directly to a Maintenance / Operations Supervisor and adheres to Health and Safety guidelines set forth by CDLP and our clients.

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

  • Always wear coveralls / waterproof clothing, head and hand protection
  • When using high-pressure washers, workers must adhere to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Worker should never use high-pressure washers where the spray could be directed at his / her exposed skin or at another worker
  • Worker must use extra caution when using hot water or steam cleaning equipment that is operated at a temperature greater than 38 degrees C (100 degrees F)
  • Worker should never use high-pressure washers where the spray could be directed at his / her exposed skin or at another worker
  • Never pass fingers or exposed skin over the sprayer orifice to clean it, as water or cleaning agents could be injected through the skin
  • Use appropriate cleaning solutions to clean high pressure washing equipment
  • Ensure appropriate nozzle setting is used on high-pressure washers for the activity being carried out (e.g. Herman-Nelson, Karcher, Hotsy etc.)
  • Never use gasoline as a cleaning agent when using high-pressure washers or steamers
  • If hazards continue to exist within the work area at day / shift’s end, those hazards must be identified with the appropriate signage
  • When work is suspended for the day / shift, shut off sprayer, depressurize, clean and move equipment to storage area or compound.
  • Follow all applicable rules and regulation on operation of vehicle / equipment on and off Site
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and is in good operating condition
  • Report any deficiencies, hazards or safety concerns to Supervisor as soon as reasonably practicable
  • Report any injury to Supervisor immediately
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • May assist, lead and train, or instruct, others in the work.
  • Wear, and participate in the ongoing training of, the required PPE for this position.
  • Provide quality customer service to our external and internal customers.
  • Lead by example with integrity.
  • Other tasks and special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Proficiency in problem solving.
  • Organizational skills in planning and scheduling.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) manual and emergency response plans.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a valid class 1 or 3 License with air brakes.
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience operating.
  • Must provide a driver’s abstract (30 days current) with their application.
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
  • Safety sensitive position pre-employment testing required.
