Excel Personnel's Northern Operations is thrilled to welcome back a returning client as we assist them in their hunt for a Logging Supervisor in Prince George, BC.

What you will do : Operational :

Operational :

The Supervisor is responsible for :

  • Direct supervision and day-to-day oversight of the Workers on company work-sites.
  • Dealing with Customers on day-to-day items.
  • Weekly meeting with Operations Management.
  • Meeting Licensee requirements for quality, volume and deliveries.
  • Walking all worksites to inspect for hazards and diarizing information on applicable documents.
  • Coordinating operational plans to ensure safety and Licensee compliance.
  • Conducting Pre-Work with Workers on company worksites citing all hazards.
  • Forwarding information provided by Operations Manager, such as operational plans, hazard alerts to Workers.
  • Coordinating equipment movement with Operations Management team.
  • Processing paperwork in timely manner and delivering to office weekly.
  • Inspecting ETV to ensure in compliance on daily basis.
  • Inspecting MTC to ensure in compliance on weekly basis.
  • Safety :

    The Supervisor is in charge of implementing all aspects of the program. Their most important responsibilities are to train each worker in safe work procedures, to develop each worker's respect for safety, and to continually check work areas to ensure safe work practices are being followed and undue hazards are eliminated.

    The Supervisor is responsible for :

  • Regulating, monitoring and enforcing the S&FMS with Workers (lead hands, employees, contractors, trucks).
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all Workers under care and control of the supervisor.
  • Having adequate knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and complying with the Regulations and any applicable orders.
  • Ensuring that Workers under their care and control are knowledgeable of the proper procedures, and that the Workers follow these procedures where applicable.
  • It is important that Workers have a clear understanding of their respective responsibilities.

  • Ensuring effective accident prevention programs are followed by all Workers.
  • Ensuring Workers are trained in safe work procedures, develop each Worker's respect for safety, and continually check work areas to ensure safe work procedures are being followed and undue hazards are eliminated.
  • Ensuring Workers wear and use the correct personal protective equipment in the proper manner.
  • Enforcing policies, Safe Work Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation applicable to the worksite under their care and control.
  • Enforcing policies, Safe Work Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation applicable to traveling to and from work of the Workers under their care and control.
  • Investigating all incidents and close calls in a fact-finding, not fault-finding manner to prevent the same or worse from happening again in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Ensuring all hazardous conditions receive prompt corrective action.
  • Inspecting ETV to ensure in compliance on daily basis.
  • Inspecting MTC to ensure in compliance on weekly basis.
  • Consulting and cooperating with the Worker Health & Safety Representative and with WorkSafeBC and officers of the board.
  • Financial Responsibilities :

    The Supervisor is responsible for :

  • Adhering to purchasing policy guidelines.
  • Demonstrating cost-effect thinking when purchasing parts or services.
  • In Conjunction with Operations Manager

    The Supervisor is responsible for :

  • Hiring qualified new employees of related companies.
  • Hiring qualified contractors.
  • Investigating all incidents and close calls in a fact-finding, not fault-finding manner to prevent the same or worse from happening again.
  • Reviewing company hazard alerts with Operations Manager and providing to Workers (lead hands, employees, contractors, trucks).
  • Forwarding hazard alerts received from Operations Manager to Workers (lead hands, employees, contractors, trucks).
  • Coordinating S&FMS with Operations Manager and Workers (lead hands, employees, contractors, trucks).
  • Specific Responsibilities : EMPLOYEES

    The Supervisor, as supervisor of related companies is responsible for :

  • Hiring qualified new employees in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Providing or ensuring timely indoctrination of the Worker and providing completed paperwork to office.
  • Providing payroll package to the employee and providing completed paperwork to office.
  • Collecting and reviewing time cards on daily basis. Corrections to be made with employee within 24 hours.
  • Delivering signed time cards to office at least twice per operational week.
  • Disciplining employees when required.
  • Terminating employees when required.
  • Specific Responsibilities : CONTRACTORS

    The Supervisor is responsible for :

  • Hiring qualified new contractors in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Providing or ensuring indoctrination of their workers and providing completed paperwork to office.
  • Disciplining contractors (owner or employee) when required.
  • Terminating contractors (owner or employee) when required.
