Position Summary : The primary responsibilities of this position are sales of charter, school, and club services at Cooper Boating.
The position involves selling to new and existing clientele via the telephone, internet, and in person at our retail location on Granville Island, trade shows, and at arranged group presentations.
The Sales and Customer Service Representative will be responsible for managing client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Secondary responsibilities of this position will include customer service to ensure that administrative processes involved with client enquiries and requests, arrivals and departures, are dealt with in a timely fashion and to the customers satisfaction.
The sales and customer service representative must operate well in overall marketing and sales team, working in cooperatively to achieve set sales goals.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Sales and management of new and existing charter, school and club clients.Record all communication with potential, new and existing clients in CRM databaseFoster sales opportunities from new leads and existing clientsSales of charter and school services, and club memberships to new clientele by selling to internet, telephone and walk-
by inquiriesSales of charter and school services and club memberships to existing clientele through client follow-up via warm calls, email, and direct mailRepresent charter, school & club products at trade showsArrange, organize and present our services to pre-
qualified group leadsExplain and execute charter and club contractsGenerate repeat business via client follow-up by phone and email.
Customer Service for existing clienteleRecord all communication with clients in CRM databaseAssist front office staff in providing service to existing charter customers, school customers and club members upon arrival and upon return when necessaryLiaise with clients, operations personnel and owners to ensure exemplary service delivery.
Preliminary Screening of Charter Boat Owner ProspectsRecord initial contacts & requests for information in CRM databaseFoster sales opportunities from non-
suitable contacts to other products, or referral companiesPass on suitable contacts to director(s)Assist with general presentation and appearance of sales officeMonitor and report on progress of sales targets

Job Qualifications : Post secondary education or a combination of technical training and experienceFormal sales training (preferred)
Level of Experience / Knowledge
Required : Strong command of English (and other languages where possible)Relevant sales experienceComputer skills Microsoft Office Products & general computing
Preferred : Recreational Boating experienceKnowledge of charter, school and club services
RemunerationSalary will be commensurate with the candidate’s training and experience. Eligible for company profit sharing program.
PerksCooper staff are permitted to enroll in any recreational boating course free of charge, provided there is available space.
Cooper staff have free use of our club boats provided they have taken the required courses to safely operate the boats, and they have not been booked by paying clients.
