Fountain Tire is looking for an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to join the Marketing team in our South Edmonton Corporate Head Office.

  • The Manager, Marketing Communications will manage Fountain Tire’s Branding, Digital Assets and Marketing Communications to drive and encourage profitable customers to do business at Fountain Tire. Duties will include :


  • Provide leadership to the communications team through effective performance management and daily mentorship, as well as ensure a continued skill development to achieve success.

  • Marketing Communications

  • Manage Fountain Tire’s marketing communications plan that supports the overall marketing strategy for all retail and commercial customers.
  • This plan includes working with Fountain Tire’s advertising agencies and other marketing associates on the communications strategy to improve sales and brand power (incl.

    consideration / preference).

  • Manage the advertising development and media planning. This includes managing joint projects and coordinating the approval of creative development within Fountain Tire.
  • Develop and manage Fountain Tire’s corporate branding program, which includes designing communication standards, communication tools (templates, letterhead), brand / logo standards (usage and guidelines), interior / exterior Fountain Tire store identification, and vehicle identification.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, coordinate the planning and execution of an internal branding / associate marketing program.
  • Managing, reporting and contributing to the enhancement of the Air Miles loyalty program.
  • Manage sponsorships, sponsorship requests, and PR initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development and manage Fountain Tire’s digital roadmap that supports the overall marketing plan for all retail and commercial customers.
  • This requires collaborating with Fountain Tire’s marketing team, Operations, Learning & Development and Store managers.

  • Lead through proper project management all developments, improvements and updates to Fountain Tires digital assets by working with various agencies and other Fountain Tire teams.
  • Continually source and implement by working collaboratively with Information Services, where appropriate, technology that enhances and promotes relevant marketing initiatives.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Create, introduce and leverage new programs, processes or initiatives to drive business results.
  • Manage marketing initiatives at events and meetings. Lead the planning and execution of Fountain Tire’s annual convention.
  • Participate, through cost analysis and projections, in the annual Marketing budgeting process.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marketing team and other departments to accomplish common goals and projects.
  • Travel to various meetings / conferences as required.
  • Participate in all safety initiatives, as required or assigned, to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The necessary experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required in the role :

  • Bachelor degree in a related field and min. 5 years of marketing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead role.
  • Knowledge of Marketing concepts with an emphasis on Branding, Digital and Advertising
  • Well-developed analytical / critical thinking abilities, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage / coordinate projects from inception utilizing proper time management, research, budget and resource management, to implementation and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to be able to handle multiple priorities with competing demands.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with team members, associates and suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • An attitude that encourages a safe, co-operative work environment.
  • Ability to accommodate travel 5-10% per year.
