Reporting to the VP of Customer Experience, the Continuous Improvement Project Manager (CIPM) will be responsible for leading strategic transformation projects in line with Superior Propane’s multi-
year acquisition and operational efficiency strategy. The CIPM will help to build and drive a continuous improvement culture that focuses on KPI’s, improving productivity and efficiency, and providing exceptional and consistent customer experience.
Key Accountabilities :
Uses skills in project management, change management, process improvement, and facilitation, to act as an internal facilitator and lead large transformation projects.
Plans, coordinates and manages multiple projects concurrently and effectively; identifies project issues / risks and establishes effective mitigation activities in a timely manner.
Effectively facilitates team meetings, manages conflict amongst team members and stakeholders, and drives projects to successful completion.
Delivers financial business results based on project deliverables that are simple and effective, sustainable, repeatable and profitable.
Actively manages stakeholders’ and team members’ performance and accountabilities through tactful persuasion, facilitation, leadership, assertiveness, and enthusiasm.
Serves as the change agent by communicating, planning and institutionalizing a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensures process metrics and project impacts are measured, validated, and communicated on a regular basis.
Actively coaches and develops others in solving business problems by using project management methodologies and Continuous Improvement tools.
Delivers CI training, supports development of training materials and helps build a knowledge repository that supports expanding the CI mindset and culture.
Assists with creating and management of the Continuous Improvement Program.
Assists with the successful operational integration of newly acquired companies as part of our multi-year growth by acquisition strategy.
Supports operations teams to embed the Superior Way, our primary management operating system used at Superior Propane.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business related studies or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience leading large cross-functional strategic transformation projects in distribution, manufacturing or service industries.
Established ability to get results with Six Sigma DMAIC, PMP, Prince II, Agile and / or other project management methodologies.
Lean management experience with exposure to Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events, as well as, Change Management methodologies.
Proven ability to quickly build relationships and achieve results in a fast paced and dynamic matrix-based environment
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to present to and influence senior level decision makers.
Well organized, self-starter, proactive problem solver with excellent time management skills and ability to inspire others.
Experienced coaching peers and teaching others how to use tools and methodologies
Proficient with Statistical Methods, Root Cause, Facilitation, Coaching, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Project, JIRA, and PowerPoint.
