    Failure to provide the above information as indicated may result in your disqualification from the process. Your references will be contacted early on in the process should you be referred and screened in for further assessment and they may be contacted prior to a scheduled interview.

    Should you not be successful on your reference checks you may not be invited for an interview to be further assessed which will result in your disqualification from this process.

    Immediate Family members and relatives may not be used as references.

    Random selection will be used to identify which applicants will be assessed in this appointment process.

    Intent of the process

    As requested by organizational needs, candidates will be randomly selected from the inventory for assessment purposes. This process may be used to establish a pool of partially or fully qualified candidates which may be used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles (English essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB / BBB, Bilingual Imperative CBC / CBC, Bilingual Imperative CCC / CCC, Bilingual Imperative BBC / BBC, English or French essential), various security profiles (Reliability, Secret, Top Secret) various locations across Canada and various tenures (such as Indeterminate, Specified Period.)

    You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

    Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification.

    In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

  • A secondary school diploma or the employer-approved alternative.*
  • The employer approved alternative is an acceptable combination of education and experience defined as follows :
  • Education : successful completion of two years of secondary school; AND
  • Experience : two years recent* experience working in a field relevant to the position (such as administrative functions that include, but not limited to, preparing correspondence, data entry, research, filing).
  • Recent is defined as within the last five years.
  • Four months (4 mths) experience* in performing general clerical duties in an office environment such as composing correspondence or memos, records management, or data entry.
  • 4 mths* is defined as experience normally acquired over a cumulative period of at least 4 months.

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized University
  • Successful completion of a program of at least 2 years or more from a recognized post-secondary institute
  • Experience in inputting data into a computerized system or database
  • Experience working in an office environment within a Federal Government organization.
  • Experience in providing support services in a records environment
  • Experience in providing support services in a mailroom environment
  • Experience in providing support services in Human Resources
  • Experience in providing support services in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in using an integrated financial system such as Systems Applications and Products (SAP), etc.
  • Experience in providing procurement services.
  • Experience in collecting information and compiling reports.
  • Experience in conducting searches such as searches in databases, procedures, legal documents or archives.
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing and extracting information from files.
  • Experience working in a government organization that provides services to immigrants.
  • Experience in the support of a Grants and Contributions program.
  • Experience in working in the Citizenship Program within the Federal Government
  • Experience working in the Immigration Program within the Federal Government
  • Experience in delivering services to clients involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) in a work environment.
  • Twelve months (12 mths) experience* in performing general clerical duties in an office environment such as composing correspondence or memos, records management, or data entry.
  • 12 mths* is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a cumulative period of at least 12 months.

    Ability and willingness to travel, as required.

    Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required.
