Job Description

CARQUEST Canada is seeking an energetic, detail oriented Financial Analyst who is looking to drive into the next phase of their career.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Analyst is responsible for providing management with useful and accurate financial and marketing analytics information on a timely basis.

The successful teammate will work in a fast-paced environment where he / she will be exposed to multiple project experiences and can readily switch gears to a new direction.

The Analyst will help make decisions and implement improvements to enhance the organization’s productivity, performance, and long-

term profitability. The Analyst will have an inquisitive nature with the skills needed to tackle finance, marketing, and operations initiatives.

Responsibilities :

  • Partners with and provides detailed quantitative analysis, modeling, and guidance to finance, marketing, sales, operations and real estate management teams, developing presentations for senior management.
  • Produces periodic financial and operating reports and analyzes operating results against budget and performance metrics to reveal trends, correlations, dependencies and gain other insights.
  • Assists in preparing financial forecast and annual corporate plans, modeling scenarios and other ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Leverage existing financial tools to support team in making recommendations to solve business problems.
  • Prepares monthly reporting for management and external parties.
  • Provides support to the Marketing team, processing Customer Rebates including submission for payables processing and validation through cheque generation
  • Required Skills

  • Exceptional MS Office skills with proven ability to create complex Excel models utilizing macros, index, arrays, pivots, lookups
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and visual presentation skills
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (BI preferred), as well as financial systems (i.e. Oracle, Hyperion)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Takes initiative, establishes priorities and meets tight deadlines
  • Works well within a team as well as independently with limited direction
  • Experience in marketing analysis and reporting is an asset
  • Work Experience :

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, forecasting, analyst role, with experience in retail and wholesale distribution environment preferred
  • Education :

  • University Degree - Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related fields
  • Accounting designation preferred
